Tonight I walked up what seemed like the only hill in Manhattan. With a trunk. And two bags filled with stuff on each shoulder. Oh yeah, that sounds as enjoyable as you can imagine. Let’s just say that if I could walk that trunk up a hill for two blocks then I can definitely do Tough Mudder. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that it started to sprinkle outside. I missed the rain by minutes.
Nobody tells you what it’s like when you try to move in this city and I’m here to tell you that it’s not fun. Exciting once you’re settled, but people don’t understand moving until they do it out of an Uber. Sometimes living in the city is hard, but it’s especially hard if you’re on a zero dollar budget. Actually, a 2.25 dollars in coins budget. Yup, you read that right. Currently what I have to my name. Well, that, a car in Florida, two dogs in Florida, and an apartment I’m renting monthly. Woohoo for spending all of my savings to now completely start over in a city I’m new to, but I think it’s completely worth it. Sometimes you just have to rid yourself of that feeling of security to push you to the point where you know you have to get your shit together. Sink or swim. Literally.
Stay tuned and we’ll both find out if I advance to life lessons without floaties.
